As a purely personal project this started with decoration ideas for my newborn daughter’s nursery. My wife wanted something unique, from me, that fit a “sunny” theme. As a natural Star Wars fan, I knew what I had to do.
I used the famous scene of Luke Skywalker starting his journey (like my child would be doing) as the set, and began with sketches of the landscape, Luke, and the suns. As I fleshed it out in Illustrator, I decided to use gradients as a texture for help separating my layers.
Once I was all set, this project was sent into Photoshop, to add a dusty texture, stars, and glows to the suns.
As the first “real” personal project, it is impactful. I still need to continue the series, with entries from Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi!
