A Quick Little Logo
In 2023, when my wife started her blog, I couldn’t resist the chance to put my creative skills to work by designing her logo. I approached it just like I would any professional project—by understanding her vision and audience. I asked her to share what she envisioned for her blog’s brand and voice, and we talked about who she wanted to connect with. She described her audience as people who value thoughtful, organic, and warm content.
Knowing her well, I had a feeling she’d want flowers incorporated—she’s an exceptional gardener, almost a master. With this foundation in mind, I started brainstorming and decided to try something new: leveraging AI for some early-stage design ideas. Using ChatGPT’s DALL-E, I crafted a prompt based on the adjectives she gave me—thoughtful, organic, and flowery, with a blog-friendly aesthetic.
What came back was a fantastic starting point. One concept that stood out was an image of flowers escaping a lightbulb, which perfectly captured her blog’s themes of creativity, growth, and inspiration. I refined the design further, tweaking the concept and using AI again to develop a cohesive color palette that matched her warm, welcoming voice.
With that inspiration as my guide, I brought the design to life in Illustrator and Photoshop, transforming it into a unique logo that both represented her and spoke to her readers in a way that felt truly authentic.
I knew she would want flowewrs involved (she is a near master gardener), and with that, I set off.
I wanted to try something new with this, and allow AI to do some look development for me. Using ChatGPT’s DALL-E, I created a prompt to generate soemthing thoughtful, organic, flowery, and meant for a blog.
What I got was a great start. ChatGPT gave me the general idea of flowers escaping a lightbulb. I took that, along with a few more prompts to come up with a general color palette, and created the following with Illustrator and Photoshop.
