Architecture Organization Annual Review: Book Series
Goal: An internal IT architecture organization wanted highlight their transformation and how they work together and what they deliver. The book will focused on their business and people; highlighting successes, benefits to the company, what they expect to deliver and develop in coming years. Most importantly it will showcase how they interact as teams.
Approach: We kicked off each edition by identifying all of the various teams within the organization and setting up interviews with multiple team members from each team. Once the interviews were complete, the writers on our team developed stories and spotlights to highlight all of the amazing work being done. While the stories were being finalized, designers on the team came up with textures and graphic designs to complement the topics highlighted throughout, while staying on brand. We also took headshots where possible and tried to avoid generic stock content. Finally, we partnered with FedEx to print high quality copies and distribute books to teammates across the world.
Result: The book was distributed throughout the team, along with key stakeholders within the broader company. It gave everyone a deeper look into all areas of the host organization, boosting confidence in the projects being supported. The first edition was published in 2017 and used in an investor meeting with IT leadership. It was so well received, we were asked to do the project annually. By the third year, many of the smaller projects from 2017 had grown into fully matured enterprise-wide initiatives, which is still creating value for the company in 2023.
